Mechanical Design Engineer (Maritime Defence)

What you will do

• Complete mechanical tasks across active projects, including 3D modelling and mechanical design.
• Produce and interpret engineering drawings to the standards required in the defence environment.
• Order prototype parts and contact suppliers as needed.
• Work with internal engineering and project teams, operating with minimal supervision.
• Deliver high-quality mechanical drawings for underwater and maritime defence systems.

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 4+ years of industry experience in product development and/or design.
• Experience using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and/or Inventor.
• Ability to produce and read standard engineering drawings and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to produce engineering drawings to BS8888 with high attention to detail.
• Sound and comprehensive knowledge of fundamental engineering theories, with design aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles and production processes.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues across the company at all levels and disciplines.
• UK nationals only; dual nationals are not eligible.
• Proof of UK residency for the last 5 years is required, and candidates must be suitable for security clearance.

• Experience with MRP.
