Principal Compliance Architect (Financial Crime)

Location: Limerick, Ireland. Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland at the time of application and throughout employment; employment permit sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Define the target-state architecture and technology roadmap across Compliance and Financial Crimes technology.
• Lead architecture across AML, KYC, sanctions, fraud, surveillance, regulatory change, and GRC platforms.
• Drive cloud adoption, platform consolidation, technical-debt reduction, and modernization across cloud-native, SaaS, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
• Shape enterprise integration and data architecture using APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and modern data platforms.
• Oversee compliance platforms including Actimize, ServiceNow IRM, and other financial crime, surveillance, and regulatory technology solutions.
• Guide major technology investments and transformation initiatives while championing DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, and resilient architecture.

Requirements

• Strong experience in enterprise, solution, application, data, or integration architecture.
• Experience in at least two areas: financial crime, including AML, KYC, sanctions, transaction monitoring, fraud, or case management; regulatory compliance, including trade or communications surveillance, regulatory reporting, ethics, or conduct risk; and regulatory change or GRC, including compliance monitoring, testing, risk assessments, regulatory change, or audit management.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and hybrid architectures, APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, Kubernetes or container platforms, and platform engineering.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, data lakes, data warehouses, or advanced analytics platforms.
• Understanding of resiliency, disaster recovery, high availability, and operational readiness.
• Experience evaluating vendor solutions and influencing technology and architecture decisions.
• Strong communication skills for working across Technology, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and senior leadership.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, together with significant experience in enterprise architecture, software engineering, data architecture, or technology leadership.
• Experience in financial services, banking, risk, compliance, financial crime, or regulatory technology is particularly valuable.
