Senior Compliance Associate Lead (Crypto)

What you will do

• Lead complex market abuse investigations end to end, including referral-based cases, and present conclusions to senior compliance stakeholders and the business.
• Review colleagues' work and provide escalation support on alert and case treatment.
• Contribute to threshold and model reviews as trading behaviour, products, and market structure evolve.
• Define surveillance detection requirements and validate surveillance platform and tooling functionality.
• Draft suspicious transaction and order reports and suspicious activity reports.
• Support market abuse risk assessments and translate identified risks into surveillance coverage.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience investigating market abuse or trading conduct within a firm subject to market conduct regulation.
• End-to-end investigation experience, including preparing regulator-reliant findings and presenting conclusions to stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of core market abuse typologies and their differences across asset classes.
• Hands-on experience with a surveillance platform such as Scila, Nasdaq SMARTS, Eventus, or NICE Actimize, plus SQL or a similar query tool.
• Exposure to threshold or model calibration, platform integration, or market abuse risk assessment.
• Clear, evidence-first written communication and sound escalation judgement.
• Fluent English and residence in the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, or Canada.

Nice to have

• Exposure to crypto-asset markets.
• Experience mentoring or acting as a senior reviewer for less experienced analysts.
• Experience implementing or building out a surveillance platform.
• Electronic communications surveillance experience.
