Payroll Practitioner

Location: Florham Park, New Jersey, United States; the role supports U.S.-based locations and U.S. payroll.

Salary: $30.14–$40.10 per hour.

What you will do

• Process accurate and timely domestic multi-state payroll for 700+ weekly employees while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Process or approve staffing transactions, mass uploads, timecards, timecard adjustments, payroll trials, employee rotations, pay policies, and employee records in Workday and related systems.
• Research and resolve payroll, time and attendance, accrual, leave-pay, and employee-record discrepancies.
• Set up and maintain garnishments, coordinate with agencies and bureaus, and process stop payments, off-cycle payments, and reimbursements.
• Provide customer-focused payroll support to employees, managers, Human Resources, and payroll team members across corporate and facility locations.
• Support audits, projects, report preparation, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and weekly full-cycle payroll processing as backup to the Senior Payroll Practitioner.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a Payroll Practitioner with U.S. payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll and tax regulations and processes.
• Experience administering wage attachments and garnishments, including the requirements for each type.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to multitask, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support employees at all levels.
• Experience with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Nice to have

• Payroll certification such as FPC or CPP.
• Exposure to union payrolls or collective bargaining agreements.
• Experience with UKG Dimensions or similar time and attendance systems.
