Senior Data Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Apply data engineering techniques to solve complex client problems involving data ingestion, storage, modelling, and movement.
• Build, deploy, and maintain data platforms and pipelines, including new data features through prototyping and implementation.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to model data and engineering processes and develop data-driven solutions.
• Communicate architecture and findings effectively and support engineering infrastructure with development and business teams.
• Share expertise, improve engineering processes, and coach junior team members.
• Support pre-sales, knowledge sharing, and the creation of data offerings and accelerators.

Requirements

• 4+ years of data engineering experience.
• Expertise in Azure services, including Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake, and SQL.
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Event Hubs and Kafka, as well as APIs, ETL, and large and complex datasets.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data modelling techniques including Kimball and Star Schema.
• Professional certifications in data engineering.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning.
• Experience delivering customer value through Agile delivery methodology.
• Must be eligible for Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Public- or private-sector experience and familiarity with data engineering regulations.
• Knowledge of AWS, Oracle ODI, DataOps, or DevOps.
• Contributions to open-source projects or data engineering forums.
• Knowledge of Git, version control, code testing, and validation in notebooks and data pipelines.
