Contract / Commercial Manager (Energy Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Manage contractual, commercial, and governance compliance across the Bristol City Leap Joint Venture and its supply chain.
• Negotiate, draft, review, administer, and manage contracts, subcontracts, supplier agreements, and concession agreements.
• Monitor contractual deliverables, milestones, payments, budgets, forecasts, performance, risks, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead commercial assessments, audits, reports, investment papers, approval documentation, and recommendations for strategic decisions.
• Develop standardized commercial procedures, controls, templates, reporting frameworks, and best practices.
• Build and develop the commercial function while advising senior leadership and managing relationships with JV partners, Bristol City Council, contractors, consultants, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven commercial experience in infrastructure, utilities, or construction environments, including complex multi-stakeholder settings.
• Experience leading commercial teams and delivering commercial performance across multiple projects and programmes.
• Experience implementing and managing commercial controls, governance procedures, and reporting frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of main contract and subcontract management.
• Extensive NEC, JCT, or similar contract administration experience, including Compensation Events, Early Warnings, and dispute resolution.
• Advanced financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting expertise, with the ability to deliver accurate outputs to challenging deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, influencing, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong contractual and commercial judgement, attention to detail, integrity, accountability, flexibility, and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
