Senior Director, Identity and Access Management (IAM)

What you will do

• Define enterprise IAM strategy, target architecture, standards, reference patterns, and multi-year capability roadmaps.
• Lead IAM engineering and modernization across Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, SailPoint, Azure, AWS, Databricks, Salesforce, Workday, and integration platforms.
• Establish Infrastructure as Code, policy-as-code, automated testing, CI/CD, reusable modules, version control, and environment promotion practices.
• Own IAM operational performance, reliability, service levels, incident and problem management, monitoring, lifecycle controls, and continuous improvement.
• Lead workforce, privileged, B2B, B2C, machine, and external identity capabilities, including federation, SSO, conditional access, delegated administration, and lifecycle integration.
• Build and develop architecture, engineering, and operations teams; oversee vendors, audits, risk remediation, governance, and responsible AI/ML adoption for IAM.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in IAM, cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure/platform engineering, or closely related technology roles, including 5+ years leading managers and/or senior technical teams.
• Experience leading IAM in a large enterprise supporting more than 15,000 users across employee, contractor, partner, customer, and application ecosystems.
• Demonstrated implementation and modernization experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and SailPoint, including identity governance, SSO/federation, MFA/passwordless authentication, conditional access, lifecycle management, and privileged access.
• Experience integrating IAM with Workday, Salesforce, Azure, AWS, Databricks, and other enterprise or cloud applications.
• Proven Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD experience for identity or security platforms using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Python, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience building multi-year IAM roadmaps, improving maturity, managing IAM as a product or capability, and leading enterprise-wide process and technology change.
• Experience designing and supporting B2B and B2C identity, external identity/federation, secure partner and customer access, operational reliability, audit evidence, disaster recovery, and security remediation.
• Microsoft identity/security, SailPoint or equivalent identity governance, Azure and/or AWS cloud architecture/security, and CISSP, CISM, or comparable certifications are required or expected as applicable.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, tenant/domain consolidation, identity migration, and hybrid/cloud transformation.
• Experience with Zero Trust, phishing-resistant authentication, non-human identity, secrets management, and cloud entitlement management.
• Experience in regulated or audit-intensive environments and with AI/ML, automation, or intelligent operations for identity risk and service improvement.
