Director Security Infrastructure & Engineering (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote - Nationwide, United States; primary location Greenwood Village, Colorado. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $138,000–$200,100 per year, with eligibility for a bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead security infrastructure and engineering teams, departmental strategy, roadmaps, resource planning, staffing, and budgets.
• Oversee enterprise network security across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, including firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, web application firewalls, routing, switching, and segmentation.
• Direct the architecture, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, Prisma Access, SASE, and ZTNA.
• Lead security infrastructure engineering across AWS and Microsoft Azure, including cloud firewalls, security controls, secure connectivity, and hybrid cloud architecture.
• Establish security standards, configuration baselines, policy governance, operational metrics, and resilience improvements.
• Partner with technology, business, risk, audit, and compliance stakeholders; oversee vendors, audits, modernization projects, and team development.

Requirements

• Significant experience in enterprise security infrastructure, network security engineering, cloud security, or related information security disciplines.
• 6–8 years of related management experience and experience leading multiple security engineering teams or subordinate managers.
• Extensive enterprise experience with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls, Panorama, Prisma Access, architecture, deployment, administration, and security policy management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, routing, switching, VPN, network segmentation, IDS/IPS, and web application firewalls.
• Experience designing and managing security infrastructure in AWS and Microsoft Azure, including cloud networking, firewalls, security controls, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Strong understanding of AWS VPC, Security Groups, Network ACLs, AWS Network Firewall, Transit Gateway, Azure Virtual Network, Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups, and Azure Virtual WAN.
• Experience with Zero Trust architecture, SASE, cloud security principles, secure enterprise network design, infrastructure modernization, third-party providers, and complex security engineering projects.
• Knowledge of security architecture standards, infrastructure hardening, configuration management, change control, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, prioritization, communication, stakeholder-influence, and professional staff management skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Microsoft Azure certifications, or CCNP.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Python, or PowerShell for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
