Senior Engineering Manager (Platform/Integrations)

Location: Remote within Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, or Armenia. Candidates located in Eastern European or Central Asian regions are especially encouraged to apply.

hirify.global operates a distributed engineering organization building platform capabilities and integrations with partners and third-party systems.

What you will do

• Lead the Platform and Integrations squads, acting as product owner and setting product and technical direction.
• Gather requirements, prioritize roadmaps, sequence work, manage milestones, and communicate trade-offs and risks.
• Guide system design, API contracts, scaling decisions, technical debt prioritization, and hands-on coding or code review in Java, Python, or Go.
• Partner with Infrastructure and DevOps on cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, reliability, and production incident root-cause analyses.
• Set engineering quality standards covering reviews, test coverage, rollback plans, monitoring, and alerting.
• Coach engineers, run 1:1s and performance reviews, plan headcount, hire and onboard team members, and improve team velocity and quality.

Requirements

• Advanced English, especially speaking and writing, is required.
• At least 3 years managing engineering teams of 10–15 people; experience managing two teams simultaneously is a strong plus.
• At least 5 years of software development experience as an individual contributor, with strong hands-on experience in Java, Python, or Golang and continued interest in coding.
• Product management experience, including roadmap ownership, stakeholder prioritization, and scope trade-offs.
• DevOps or infrastructure experience with cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring; collaboration with DevOps engineers qualifies even without direct management responsibility.
• Demonstrated Lean/Agile management experience and delivery of several large projects during the past 3 years.
• Ability to manage engineers with different skill sets, provide frequent feedback, run planning sessions and retrospectives, and grow teams through hiring and onboarding.
• Strong prioritization, communication, decision-making, process improvement, and code quality versus delivery speed judgment in ambiguous and changing environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Platform, infrastructure, or SRE teams.
• Experience building or managing public APIs, partner integrations, webhooks, or event-driven systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience managing startup engineering teams during rapid growth and organizational change.
• Experience introducing code review, performance review, levels, ladders, or other engineering and management practices.
• Experience managing partially or fully remote teams.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog and Metabase.
• Russian language.
