Senior Systems Test & Trials Lead (Electronic Warfare)

What you will do

• Coordinate the practical planning and control of complex laboratory-based test and trials activity.
• Build schedules, manage dependencies, and ensure assets, facilities, people, equipment, access, data, and documentation are ready.
• Lead preparation, execution, and post-activity reporting while managing risks, issues, dependencies, and safe delivery.
• Maintain controlled plans, procedures, versions, configuration items, and evidence packs to support change control.
• Line manage up to three engineers through objectives, coaching, regular one-to-ones, and performance management.
• Work with customers, internal stakeholders, and the Principal Test & Trials Engineer to agree acceptance criteria and maintain delivery against engineering standards.

Requirements

• Line management experience, including motivating and developing engineers through objectives, coaching, and feedback.
• Proven experience coordinating test and trials activity, including planning, scheduling, and dependency management in a laboratory or representative system environment.
• Strong delivery governance skills, including management of RAID items and appropriate escalation.
• Some exposure to the Electronic Warfare domain through industry, military, or adjacent programmes.
• Strong organisation and documentation skills, including plans, minutes, actions, procedures, controlled configuration baselines, and evidence packs.
• Clear communication skills for working with customers and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Excel trackers, or similar planning and delivery tools.
• Working knowledge of systems engineering and test governance, including acceptance criteria, V&V planning, interface control notes, and readiness reviews.
• Experience coordinating suppliers, facilities, security, IT, and other internal or external contributors.
• STEM degree or equivalent experience with a practical engineering mindset.
