Management Accountant (Automotive)

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, with agile working

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Prepare and present monthly management accounts covering P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Lead monthly financial performance reviews, explain variances and trends, and provide recommendations.
• Work with FP&A, project teams, and operational stakeholders on budgets, forecasts, accruals, analysis, and business decisions.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items during the month-end close.
• Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve financial processes and controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, audits, and related financial analysis.

Requirements

• Qualified management accountant with proven experience in a complex commercial environment.
• Experience owning significant P&L areas and providing meaningful financial analysis and insight.
• Strong understanding of accruals, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ability to investigate issues, challenge assumptions, and explain financial performance to stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with FP&A, project, operational, finance, and non-finance teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, accuracy, communication, problem-solving, risk identification, and continuous improvement skills.
• Ability to build credibility, influence decisions, and work effectively in a changing environment.
