Financial Accountant

Location: Craigavon, UK. Full-time or part-time working arrangements are available on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Core working hours are 10:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working may be applied for after successful completion of the six-month probationary period. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK without restrictions or hold a valid UK work permit.

What you will do

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, finance reports, performance measures, and financial commentary.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets and prior reporting periods.
• Complete month-end journals and review balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments, and suspense accounts.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, report capital expenditure against budget, prepare cash-flow forecasts, and reconcile bank accounts.
• Lead year-end accounts and prepare supporting working papers for external auditors.
• Review accounts payable and receivable performance, supervise Finance team members, produce stakeholder reports, and support improvements to financial systems, controls, and processes.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant status with a UK-recognised professional body such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Significant financial accounting experience and experience overseeing entity financial accounts, including profit and loss reporting, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, accounts payable and receivable reviews, and fixed asset accounting.
• Experience coordinating year-end account packs and preparing supporting working papers for auditors.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data-manipulation and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative, manage competing deadlines, collaborate, and contribute to team deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience in project accounting, budgeting, costing, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
