Senior Data Platform Administrator (SQL Server/Cloud)

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States of America. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future company visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Own reliability standards, SLI/SLO practices, capacity planning, cost governance, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and incident response across SQL Server, Azure SQL, Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, Snowflake, and Delphix.
• Lead production-scale database migrations and modernization, including on-premises-to-cloud transitions, upgrades, engine consolidation, and platform retirement.
• Design multi-region high-availability and cross-cloud disaster recovery architectures for tier-1 workloads, while driving database cost optimization.
• Automate database operations with PowerShell, Python, and schema migration tooling; operate replication and CDC topologies using HVR, AWS DMS, Meltano, and SQL Server replication.
• Own Delphix platform administration, Snowflake architectural operations, legacy MS BI modernization, observability, security, encryption, access governance, audit logging, and compliance controls.
• Mentor administrators, lead postmortems, influence cross-team architecture, evaluate emerging technologies, and produce recommendations and proof-of-concept implementations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of database administration experience across multiple platforms, including significant senior individual-contributor experience.
• Expert SQL Server engineering experience with FCI, Always-On Availability Groups, Extended Events, Query Store, advanced performance tuning, In-Memory OLTP, and Resource Governor.
• Production experience with SQL Server plus at least two cloud-native databases among Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and DynamoDB.
• Experience leading production-scale database migration or modernization initiatives; 10TB+ is preferred for this experience.
• Deep performance-tuning knowledge across OLTP and operational analytics, including execution-plan internals, storage-engine behavior, and concurrency control.
• Operational Snowflake expertise covering warehouse architecture, RBAC design, and cost governance, plus hands-on Delphix expertise at architectural depth.
• Operational experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS Tabular and Multidimensional, and SSMDS.
• Production replication and CDC experience with HVR, AWS DMS, Meltano, or SQL Server native replication.
• Strong PowerShell and Python scripting and automation skills; working knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Demonstrated mentorship, standards-setting, architecture influence, cross-team strategy leadership, and working knowledge of SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or equivalent frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-region or multi-cloud disaster recovery for tier-1 workloads.
• Experience with Kubernetes-hosted database workloads or operators.
• Public technical contributions such as blog posts, conference talks, or open-source work.
• Experience in regulated financial-services or healthcare environments.
• Familiarity with Delta Lake, Iceberg, and database-adjacent data lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or other database observability platforms.
