Low Level Engineer (OS)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Israel without visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Build runtime sensor components from research and design through implementation, rollout, and production monitoring.
• Develop OS-level monitoring using eBPF on Linux, kernel drivers on Windows, and system extensions or Endpoint Security on macOS.
• Contribute to technical and architectural decisions for a codebase shared across operating systems and architectures, including design and code reviews.
• Improve CPU usage, memory consumption, performance, and stability for software running on every customer host.
• Investigate production issues across a large fleet using kernel-version analysis, crash dumps, and telemetry.
• Collaborate with Detection Research, Backend, DevOps, and Product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of the internals of at least one major operating system: Linux, Windows, or macOS, including processes and threads, memory management, file systems, networking, and syscall or kernel interfaces.
• Strong debugging skills with low-level tools such as gdb/lldb, WinDbg, perf, strace, and crash dumps.
• Legal right to work in Israel without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of experience in systems or low-level software development.
• Strong engineering fundamentals in concurrency, performance, and defensive coding.
• Production experience with Rust.
• Linux development experience, including eBPF, kernel development, cgroups, namespaces, and containers.
• Windows development experience, including kernel drivers, minifilters, callbacks, ETW, WFP, WDK, and BSOD analysis.
• macOS development experience, including the Endpoint Security framework, system extensions, and XNU internals.
• Experience building EDR, antivirus, or runtime protection products.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience shipping software on customer-managed infrastructure at scale.
