What you will do
Lead production engineers, test and bring-up engineers, technicians, and contract engineers; set priorities, assign work, review output, and develop the team.
Own the transition of robot designs from prototype through pilot builds and volume production, including work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and station design.
Develop the production test strategy from subassembly testing through station tests, robot bring-up, and final acceptance.
Represent Manufacturing in design-change reviews and manage implementation on the production line without sacrificing quality or output.
Partner with hardware engineering on design-for-manufacturing, design-for-test, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness.
Investigate recurring electrical, mechanical, and system-level failures using production and field data, driving root-cause fixes while remaining hands-on.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Proven experience leading engineers through priority setting, work assignment, output review, and people development; formal management or technical-lead experience is accepted.
Deep hands-on experience designing, integrating, and debugging complex electromechanical systems.
Strong electrical fundamentals, including reading schematics and using oscilloscopes and meters to troubleshoot power systems, boards, harnesses, sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces.
Experience taking hardware from prototype through new product introduction into volume production.
Experience building production test systems, including fixtures, bring-up, end-of-line, or automated testing.
Hands-on design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test experience with design engineering.
Experience managing engineering changes on an active production line.
Daily use of AI tools in engineering work, with the ability to demonstrate their application.
