Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS)

What you will do

• Lead ONR's enterprise cloud architecture strategy, solution design, governance, reference architectures, and technical working groups.
• Architect, deploy, optimize, and operate secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective AWS and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Design complex network topologies, backup and disaster recovery strategies, cloud integrations, and application migration and modernization plans.
• Define cloud security architecture for DoD, Department of the Navy, and ONR requirements, including ATO efforts, security assessments, continuous monitoring, system security documentation, and POA&Ms.
• Lead Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automated provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Mentor technical staff, advise government stakeholders, lead technical reviews and change management, and resolve escalated infrastructure, connectivity, performance, and integration incidents.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant or related experience, including senior-level cloud architecture and engineering responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Enterprise Architecture, Computer Science, or a related IT field.
• DoD Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) DoD 8570 IASAE Level II certification required.
• Enterprise Architecture certification required.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Systems Manager, and OpenSearch.
• Experience with VPC peering, VPN connectivity, routing, gateways, segmentation, infrastructure lifecycle management, root cause analysis, and cloud cost and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs and SRGs, cybersecurity architecture, identity, encryption, logging, security controls, and risk remediation.
• Experience with CloudFormation and/or Terraform, AWS Developer Tools such as CodePipeline and CodeBuild, AWS CLI, Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
