Paralegal (Consumer Protection)

Location: San Francisco, California; based in the San Francisco office

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Gather, review, and organize information for privacy impact assessments, data protection impact assessments, privacy controls reviews, website audits, and related documentation.
• Coordinate work intake and triage, including information requests, matter deadlines, follow-up items, and other matter activities.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research, prepare summaries, and draft privacy materials and other work product for attorney review.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, knowledge resources, and repeatable workflows with legal, compliance, product, and technology teams.
• Coordinate practice operations initiatives, project plans, proposals, testing schedules, pilot feedback, meetings, training logistics, action items, deadlines, and progress reports.
• Track participation, adoption, operational improvements, time savings, stalled projects, leadership decisions, and billable and non-billable time in accordance with firm policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 3–5 years of directly related paralegal or legal work experience.
• Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to organize and synthesize legal, regulatory, and factual information.
• Experience using generative AI tools for legal research, drafting, analysis, and other legal work, with an understanding of appropriate use and confidentiality considerations.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High integrity, critical thinking, effective project and time management, strong attention to detail, superior communication, and exceptional organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime as requested is required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting privacy, consumer protection, data protection, or related regulatory compliance matters.
• CIPP/US or another relevant privacy certification.
