Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++/Embedded)

Location: Onsite in Carlsbad, California; Marlborough, Massachusetts; Linthicum Heights, Maryland; or Tampa, Florida, United States

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually; $174,000–$261,000 annually for specific locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area

What you will do

• Develop embedded software for Layer 2 and Layer 3 inline network encryptors, embedded cryptographic devices, and emerging cryptographic solutions.
• Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ for Linux-based environments.
• Develop or modify Linux kernel drivers and bare-metal embedded device drivers.
• Work with microprocessors and embedded processors, including NIOS, ARM, and RISC-V.
• Design RESTCONF interfaces, standalone embedded applications, and emulation environments.
• Collaborate with system, test, hardware, and other multidisciplinary engineers to develop, test, and certify the Next Generation Encryptor for government enterprise networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing embedded software in C/C++.
• At least 2 years of Linux OS experience, ideally in an embedded environment.
• Experience using Rust, object-oriented software development, Agile Scrum, CI/CD software, and TCP/IP with common network configuration.
• Ability to plan, track, and report on progress, with good oral and written communication skills.
• US citizenship and an active Secret or higher security clearance are required.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux kernel driver development or modifications and bare-metal embedded device drivers.
• Experience with NIOS, ARM, RISC-V, or other microprocessors and embedded processors.
• Experience with RESTCONF, emulation environments, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, Python, standalone embedded applications, or similar memory-safe programming languages.
• Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams.
