Manager of Product Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; occasional travel to Staples, Minnesota, up to 2–3 times per year for meetings, professional development, or team activities.

Annual salary: $132,320–$165,400, with potential to exceed the midpoint based on experience.

What you will do

• Lead engineering strategy and integrate it with broader functional and product strategy.
• Develop, operate, and enhance secure, reliable, and scalable applications, platforms, integrations, and data capabilities.
• Maintain enterprise architecture artifacts and advance technology architectures, digital capabilities, and operational efficiency.
• Guide evaluation, design, and implementation of AI-enabled product features, data-driven automation, and generative AI solutions aligned with architecture, governance, and security standards.
• Develop engineers through coaching, training, mentoring, performance management, and resource allocation.
• Partner with product owners, technical and business stakeholders, consultants, and senior leaders while tracking budgets and delivery outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, or equivalent post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience totaling four years.
• Ten years of experience in related roles, including at least two years leading engineering work through technical resource planning, design and development guidance, cross-team coordination, mentoring, or technical leadership.
• Experience with system architecture, solution design, API development, or technical roadmaps in software or data engineering environments.
• Experience with modern engineering practices and tools, including Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Experience with relational or cloud databases and modern data platforms, including SQL and technologies such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, data warehouses, or data lakes.
• Experience supporting modern AI capabilities such as automated decisioning, predictive analytics, or generative AI.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS integrations such as Salesforce, Workday, or Cvent, and/or integration and data-movement technologies such as Boomi, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Databricks.
• Experience with one or more modern programming languages, frameworks, or engineering stacks such as C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or PHP.
• Experience collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
• Managerial experience supervising and directing people and resources to achieve defined results within 13-month to 3-year timeframes.
