Software Engineer Principal (Informatica/Oracle/SQL)

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; weekly time in the office is required. This is an in-office company, and the position may not be available in other geographic areas.

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, and support production ETL solutions for complex business requirements.
• Translate business and technical requirements into reliable data integration and transformation solutions.
• Analyze and troubleshoot data-related issues across multiple systems and large datasets.
• Lead complex problem solving and provide technical guidance to colleagues.
• Apply software engineering, SDLC, and modern development practices to advance business capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Informatica experience, including development and support of production ETL solutions.
• 5+ years of hands-on ANSI SQL experience with complex queries, joins, subqueries, aggregations, stored procedures, and SQL performance optimization.
• Strong experience with Oracle databases and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of ETL, data integration, data transformation, data quality, and data engineering principles.
• Experience with large datasets, complex source-to-target transformations, data analysis, and cross-system troubleshooting.
• Understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and database design principles.
• Experience with structured SDLC and production implementation processes.
• University or college degree, typically a bachelor's degree, or a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience; roles at this level typically require 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.

Nice to have

• 1+ year of experience with Tableau or Power BI for reporting, visualization, or data analysis.
• Exposure to mainframe environments or mainframe data sources.
• Experience integrating legacy or mainframe platforms with distributed database systems.
• Experience with scheduling, batch processing, source-to-target mapping, data reconciliation, and production support.
• Agile methodology, DevOps, distributed systems, object-oriented programming, system design, application design, architecture, packaged application integration, and technical troubleshooting experience.
