Senior Flight Software Engineer II (Embedded C/C++)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based out of headquarters

Base pay range: $151,000–$227,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Develop application software for RTOS and/or embedded Linux environments.
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and other spacecraft sensors and actuators.
• Build and maintain unit tests within a Continuous Integration framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop, systems, and embedded systems engineers to verify software, hardware, and requirements.
• Review source-code changes, enforce coding standards, and participate in PDR and CDR design reviews.
• Assist with on-orbit and interplanetary flight operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• 8+ years of applicable embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
• For U.S. office roles, candidates must meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• Active Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.
• Advanced degree.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD and/or UDP/TCP in embedded systems.
• Experience developing software for autonomous vehicles operating in harsh environments, such as satellites or autonomous vehicles.
