TL;DR
Senior Staff Antenna Engineer (Radar/EW): Designing, integrating, and testing antennas, phased arrays, and RF front ends for radar, electronic warfare, and sensing systems with an accent on AESA architectures, electromagnetic modeling, and antenna qualification. Focus on translating system requirements into producible designs, correlating simulations with measurements, and resolving integration challenges across RF, digital, mechanical, and thermal systems.
Location: Full-time, on-site position in El Segundo, California, United States. U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; an active clearance is preferred.
Base salary: $237k–$264k annually, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.
Company
hirify.global develops defense products powered by Coherent Distributed Networks for warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams.
What you will do
Own antenna development from architecture trades through qualification and production, selecting approaches based on mission performance, SWaP-C, reliability, producibility, and cost.
Translate system requirements into antenna, aperture, RF front-end, and radome requirements.
Design, model, integrate, and test antennas and phased arrays for active and passive RF systems, including AESA, narrowband, and wideband architectures.
Plan verification and qualification activities, correlate analytical predictions with measured performance, and support prototype integration, test campaigns, and field activities.
Collaborate with RF, digital, mechanical, and thermal engineers to deliver integrated designs and resolve technical risks.
Provide technical guidance during design reviews and requirements development, while contributing to analysis tools, test methods, sponsored research, and university partnerships.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, plus 10+ years of antenna engineering experience in radar, electronic warfare, or related RF sensing applications.
Deep antenna design expertise in at least one frequency band and working knowledge across other frequency bands.
Experience designing phased arrays and RF front ends, including element design, scan performance, mutual coupling, sidelobe control, polarization, calibration, and beamforming.
Experience with narrowband and wideband architectures such as TCDA, Vivaldi, or log-periodic designs.
Hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation, antenna measurement, and model-to-test correlation.
Experience integrating antennas with beamforming electronics, radomes, structures, and thermal systems.
Ability to work independently on assigned technical efforts and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; active clearance is preferred.
Nice to have
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
Experience with digital or adaptive beamforming, monopulse processing, multifunction arrays, or conformal arrays.
Experience with ruggedized antennas, radomes, installed-antenna performance, design for manufacturing, automated calibration, or production test.
Technical contributions demonstrated through fielded systems or patents.
Culture & Benefits
Hands-on work with designed hardware from development through testing and field use in a fast-moving engineering environment.
Medical, dental, and vision benefits fully paid by the company, plus 401(k) with a 50% company match up to 6% of pay, FSA, HSA, and life insurance.
Relocation assistance and pre-IPO stock option grants; annual bonuses are planned.
