Editorial Design Intern, Wirecutter

Location: Hybrid role based in New York City

Salary: $20 USD per hour

Wirecutter is a product recommendation service that tests and reports on products to help readers make informed purchasing decisions through independent editorial work.

What you will do

• Create production-ready visuals for social media, design templates, and infographics.
• Contribute creative ideas for editorial illustration and visual storytelling projects.
• Assist Wirecutter photographers on set in the photo studio.
• Collaborate with different teams across the editorial organization and participate in its creative process.

Requirements

• Undergraduate, graduate, or recent graduate student majoring in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Conceptual creative problem-solving skills demonstrated through a portfolio of design or illustration work.

• Interest in service journalism and project management.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and remotely.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and analytical approach.
• Comfort presenting ideas and solutions to managers and colleagues.
• Close attention to detail in design execution and craft.
