AI Researcher (Machine Learning)

Location: Remote in the United States; preferred to be co-located in Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA. Must be able to obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.

Salary: $178,200–$232,650 (Zone A); $160,380–$209,385 (Zone B); $147,906–$193,100 (Zone C), plus potential benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Design system and machine learning model architectures.
• Conduct rigorous experimentation and model evaluations.
• Apply AI and machine learning to product problems across hirify.global's portfolio.
• Develop and scale machine learning models using large amounts of data.
• Contribute to hirify.global Intelligence features and state-of-the-art AI solutions for enterprise use cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a relevant technical field.
• Currently enrolled full time in a Doctorate program in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, or a relevant field, with graduation by August 2027.
• Strong foundation in AI/ML, LLMs, optimization, and related techniques.
• Experience with research, publishing, and building and scaling machine learning models using large amounts of data.
• Agile development mindset with an appreciation for constant iteration and improvement.
• Ability to obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing authorization during employment.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Python and ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Experience managing data with NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib, using Hugging Face models, and applying machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Exposure to natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, and AI optimization.
• Familiarity with current machine learning and AI research through relevant coursework, publications, or projects.
• Publications in top-tier AI conferences or journals.
• Ability to solve ambiguous and complex problems, break challenges into manageable components, and develop innovative solutions.
