Space Special Missions Program Director (Defense)

What you will do

• Serve as Project Officer and Capture Manager to identify and shape space opportunities across the Department of War and Intelligence Community.
• Act as Program Integrator, providing acquisition, program management, budget execution, and coordination support to an agile product office.
• Coordinate with Department of War and Army G8 personnel on resource management, financial planning, modernization, and spend plans.
• Prepare briefings and program updates for Congressional staffers, government representatives, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Define and manage program requirements, aligning them with mission objectives, Warfighter priorities, evolving threats, and stakeholder needs.
• Coordinate engineering, logistics, business, test, operations, cyber, security, and contracts activities, including support for new programs and interim Deputy PM duties.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business, or a related field with 18 years of experience, or a master’s degree with more than 10 years of experience.
• Proven program management experience in the defense industry.
• Familiarity with Department of War adaptive acquisition processes, policies, and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of Department of War Strategic Space Strategy.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in long-range fires.
• DAWIA Level 3 Program Management certification, Back to Basics Advanced Credentials, and/or Project Management Professional certification.
• Current or prior assignments with the US Space Force, US Air Force, space agencies, or other stakeholders in the Warfighter Space Architecture.
