Product Manager, AI

Location: US-based hybrid position in the Boston, MA area; a coworking space will be provided. The role may require up to 10% travel, including occasional travel to Connecticut and less frequent travel to Tempe, Arizona.

Base pay: $129,339–$200,000 per year, plus potential incentive, commission, or annual bonus pay.

What you will do

• Frame open-ended AI opportunities as user problems, testable hypotheses, and focused experiments.
• Conduct interviews, observation, and usability research, translating findings into experience requirements and product decisions.
• Own proof-of-concept experience design, including user flows, interaction patterns, visual hierarchy, and polished prototypes.
• Build and iterate working prototypes with AI development tools in direct collaboration with engineers.
• Define evaluations and benchmarks, prioritize the experiment backlog, and use feedback, analytics, technical findings, and costs to guide decisions.
• Collaborate across disciplines while incorporating accessibility and responsible use into rapid design and development cycles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5 or more years of product management experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Experience creating new software products in uncertain environments, including prototypes and decisions changed by evidence.
• Strong design aesthetic and a portfolio demonstrating excellent interaction and visual design, with the ability to take an experience from concept through polished prototype.
• Experience designing and using evaluations and benchmarks with representative test cases, rubrics, baselines, and interpretation of results.
• Practical fluency in AI capabilities, limitations, and costs.
• Strong user research and communication skills, openness to critique, and motivation to improve education.
• Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Replit, v0, Claude Code, or comparable tools for quickly building and iterating on working prototypes.
