Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle)

Location: Remote role associated with Port Hueneme, California, United States; U.S. citizenship required.

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Monitor and resolve issues across Oracle development, test, acceptance, and production environments.
• Work with application administrators and developers to resolve application-support issues.
• Automate routine operations with Linux shell scripting and Oracle Grid Control.
• Support standby databases, create materialized views, and promote code across environments.
• Build databases, perform upgrades, apply Oracle patches, and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Perform database backups and restores using RMAN, CommVault, and NetApp Snapshots.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in an operations environment.
• CompTIA Security+ or government-approved IT security certification such as CISSP, and Oracle Certified Associate certification or higher.
• Experience with IT operations protocols, daily alert monitoring, routine Oracle database administration, troubleshooting, and basic SQL scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix scripting, Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, CommVault, database backup and recovery, and database security.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work with customers regularly, and lead specific task teams.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain Secret clearance eligibility are required.
• Availability for off-hours work, including some Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, and rotational one-week on-call duty every few weeks.

Nice to have

• Experience managing, maintaining, and sustaining Oracle Database 19c or later environments.
• Hands-on Oracle database administration experience in a production environment.
• BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution.
