Senior Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Administrator

Salary: $140,000–$187,500 per year

What you will do

• Administer and maintain production databases on Oracle Exadata Cloud Service, Dedicated Infrastructure, Autonomous Database, Autonomous Container Databases, Container Databases, and Pluggable Databases.
• Plan, test, and execute migrations of legacy on-premises Oracle workloads into OCI using Data Pump, Transportable Tablespaces, and Zero Downtime Migration.
• Manage secure data transfers across federal networks and security domains while supporting database upgrades and transitions to Oracle 26ai.
• Perform advanced performance tuning and query optimization using AWR, ADDM, ASH, and execution plan analysis.
• Maintain Active Data Guard high-availability and disaster-recovery configurations and oversee RMAN and OCI Object Storage backup and recovery operations.
• Apply quarterly security patches, remediate vulnerabilities, and harden databases in compliance with DHS and DISA STIG requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain the required public trust suitability; dual citizenship is not permitted.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience and 3+ years of direct OCI database administration experience.
• Experience migrating large-scale database workloads into cloud environments.
• Mastery of Oracle Multitenant architecture, including administering, patching, and managing PDBs within a CDB.
• Oracle Exadata administration experience and experience with Data Pump, GoldenGate, RMAN, and ZDM.
• Experience supporting DHS HQ or components such as CBP, TSA, or FEMA under strict agency change-control processes.
• Familiarity with Oracle 26ai, Autonomous Container Databases, and Autonomous Databases.
• Experience using Ansible or shell scripting to automate administration, patching, and migration workflows.
• OCI Database Cloud Service Professional certification.
