Engineer - Application (Substation)

Location: Remote within the United States, with listed locations in Greenfield, Indiana and Houston, Texas. Travel: 25%–50%.

Salary: $74,285–$118,856 annually.

What you will do

• Develop technical sales proposals for high-voltage substation projects, products, systems, and services, typically 46kV and above.
• Serve as the engineering point person throughout the RFQ process, product selection, system design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including specification review, compatibility confirmation, proof of concept, and customer solutions.
• Prepare accurate proposals covering technical specifications, assumptions, exceptions, bills of materials, cost allocation, installation scope, and engineering, testing, and commissioning estimates.
• Coordinate customers, hirify.global, manufacturers, vendors, account representatives, and subcontractors on system implementation and power equipment bid packages.
• Research customer needs, market conditions, competitive forces, and technical developments while supporting sales growth and product positioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience required, with 5 years preferred, in networking and infrastructure sales at a medium or large company.
• At least 3 years of technical experience required, with 5 years preferred, using networking and infrastructure products.
• Technical expertise in high-voltage substation products and the ability to act as an internal and external domain expert.
• Demonstrated data analysis skills, including resolving missing or incomplete information and inconsistencies or anomalies in complex research and data.
• Ability to work independently and solve difficult issues.
• Ability to provide general guidance or training to junior support or professional personnel.
• Ability to travel 25%–50%.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Five years of networking and infrastructure sales experience.
• Five years of technical experience using networking and infrastructure products.
