Security Consultant (Supply Chain)

Location: Hybrid, with office attendance at least two days per week or 40% of working time in Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, or Edinburgh, UK

What you will do

• Use threat intelligence, data, and security tooling to identify cyber threats and risks across the supplier ecosystem.
• Translate complex technical findings into practical, business-relevant recommendations for management and subject matter experts.
• Support cyber-incident response within the supplier ecosystem, quantify risks, and feed lessons learned into mitigation actions.
• Build relationships across internal teams and external suppliers to influence how third-party security is designed, embedded, and continuously improved.
• Improve data, tooling, controls, and ways of working through automation, AI, and other technologies.
• Work in agile ways across threat intelligence, incident response, supplier risk, data, and technology challenges.

Requirements

• Understanding of supplier ecosystem threats and current and emerging cyber risks, with the ability to apply this knowledge to third-party environments.
• Deep security expertise across threat detection, endpoint security, malware protection, and information security controls.
• Ability to apply operational risk principles and make clear, proportionate decisions focused on risk and outcomes.
• Ability to analyse complex data and translate insights into clear, business-relevant recommendations.
• Ability to influence and collaborate, build trusted relationships, and support or challenge stakeholders.
• Adaptability in changing, agile environments, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Interest in using automation and AI to improve security outcomes.
• Ability to become a recognised subject matter expert and provide sound judgement in high-priority scenarios, including incidents.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISMP.
