Research Associate (CRISPR)

Salary: £38,448–£46,970 per annum, depending on experience

What you will do

• Establish, optimize, and perform CRISPR-based genetic screens in human cells.
• Set up new methods, validate screening hits, define mechanisms, and document workflows.
• Conduct individual and collaborative research projects with the Kulathu and Richard Timms laboratories.
• Prepare research for publication and dissemination.
• Train colleagues and collaborate with academic researchers on shared interests.

Requirements

• Have, or be about to obtain, a relevant PhD or equivalent.
• At least one first-author publication or preprint posted on BioRxiv or MedRxiv.
• Specialist knowledge of human cell genetics, CRISPR-based functional genomics, and the principles of genetic screens.
• Interest in ubiquitin biology, cellular quality control, or stress responses.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have

• Previous experience establishing, optimizing, and analyzing genetic screens is strongly desirable.
