Senior AI Engineer

Location: Faro, Lisbon, or Porto, Portugal; hybrid work with teams in the office an average of four days a week

What you will do

• Design and implement production-grade AI agents and GenAI capabilities within a client’s Azure environment.
• Integrate LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, context retrieval, structured outputs, guardrails, and tool calling.
• Design agent orchestration and AI workflows.
• Build evaluation frameworks, golden datasets, and automated quality testing for LLM solutions.
• Develop backend APIs and integrate AI services with enterprise systems.
• Work with the Solution Architect and Technical Lead to turn target architecture into reliable, secure, and scalable AI services.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, and AI agents.
• Experience building RAG and retrieval-based AI solutions.
• Experience with Azure AI services and enterprise Azure environments.
• Understanding of AI security, observability, and production reliability.
• Ability to work closely with architects and engineers and contribute directly to implementation and technical decisions.
