Cybersecurity Engineer (d/m/f)

Location: Full-time hybrid role in Germany or another hirify.global country; Soest, Germany

What you will do

• Lead cybersecurity improvement tasks and projects across IT and business areas.
• Monitor attacks, intrusions, unauthorized activities, and security events; investigate incidents and provide incident response.
• Develop and deploy security controls, policies, procedures, security systems, and hardened baselines.
• Conduct security reviews and audits, recommend improvements, and advise employees on secure use of IT systems and applications.
• Coordinate preparation for information security certifications and regulations, including ISO 27001, ISO 27017, NIS2, and GDPR.
• Research emerging threats, deliver cybersecurity awareness training, and prepare reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or MBA degree in computer science or a related field.
• Solid background in cybersecurity, infrastructure, support, or helpdesk.
• Good knowledge of networks, operating systems, software, hardware, firewalls, cloud computing, endpoint protection, EDR, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview is required.
• Understanding of cybersecurity risks and risk-management methods, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Teamworking skills.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity or IT certifications such as SSCP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH.
• Microsoft Security certifications such as AZ-500 or SC-100–400.
• Experience deploying enterprise cybersecurity according to ISO 27001, ISO 27017, NIST SP800-53, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or SOC2.
