hirify.global's Welo Data AI Services team runs Project Hydrus, a scripted and conversational audio data collection project for conversational AI voice products.

What you will do

• Complete two supervised recording sessions of approximately four hours each with live guidance from a Session Director.
• Record scripted material in a natural, conversational British English delivery without a polished or announcer-style tone.
• Record spontaneous speech on assigned topics while matching the warmth and pace of the scripted recordings.
• Set up and manage a quiet recording space and professional recording equipment.
• Deliver all recordings in the required language and specific dialect without code-switching.

Requirements

• Experience as a voice actor, actor, theater performer, or comparable performer.
• Native or native-equivalent fluency in English with the required specific dialect.
• Access to a quiet, echo-free recording space without background noise.
• Own or acquire a dedicated professional-grade microphone for the audition, upgrading to a qualifying USB condenser or XLR microphone with audio interface for session recording if selected.
• Built-in laptop microphones, AirPods, earbuds, and headsets are not accepted at any stage.
• Own closed-back monitoring headphones for session recording if selected.
• Be comfortable self-directing during the audition and taking live direction during guided sessions.

Nice to have

• Professional conversational voice-over experience in dubbing/ADR, audiobooks, or podcasts.
• Basic audio hygiene skills, including setting microphone distance and identifying noise, clipping, or distortion.
• An existing acoustically treated home recording setup.
