Senior IT Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Operate and continuously develop Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Manage on-premise servers, storage, networks, firewalls, site links, internet connectivity, and endpoint lifecycles.
• Maintain backup and recovery processes, including restore testing for critical systems.
• Manage identity and access, onboarding and offboarding, MFA, access reviews, and least-privilege controls.
• Support security operations through monitoring, vulnerability management, patch tracking, and incident response.
• Provide L2/L3 support, guide working students supporting L1 activities, document systems, lead IT projects, coordinate suppliers, and support ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 audits.

Requirements

• Willingness to work onsite at the headquarters in Dresden in an operational infrastructure role.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, plus practical Microsoft Azure administration, ideally including Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Strong knowledge of Windows clients and servers; solid networking expertise with VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Experience with backup and recovery, patch management, endpoint protection, MFA, Conditional Access, least privilege, and vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation, preferably PowerShell.
• Degree or vocational IT qualification, such as Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ideally 10+ years of experience as a System Engineer, Senior IT Administrator, or in a comparable hands-on infrastructure role.
• Very good English and German skills, ideally at C1 level.
• Ability to work independently, document reliably, coordinate external IT suppliers, and maintain a strong security mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience guiding junior colleagues or working students.
• Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, or SC-300.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and/or ITIL 4.
• Experience supporting laboratory, test, or semiconductor company IT environments.
