Manufacturing (Electrical) Engineering Intern Summer 2027

Location: Onsite in Mojave, California, United States; relocation eligible to the local Mojave area. This is a 10–12-week summer internship with a 9/80 schedule.

Salary: $33.00/hour for Technical Interns in years 1–2; $38.00/hour for years 3–4.

What you will do

• Support electrical manufacturing, assembly processes, production equipment, and day-to-day production activities.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical, wiring, test, and production-equipment issues under engineer supervision.
• Update work instructions, wiring diagrams, test procedures, bills of materials, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Collect and analyze production, quality, scrap, rework, downtime, and test data.
• Assist with root-cause investigations, corrective actions, process trials, equipment validations, and new-product introduction activities.
• Participate in improvement projects addressing safety, quality, throughput, and cost while collaborating with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Sophomore, junior, or senior student progressing to graduate school in an engineering degree program.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, schematics, and electrical test equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Effective communication and collaboration with production and engineering teams.
• Willingness to work in both office and manufacturing-floor environments.

Nice to have

• Experience reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, or assembly drawings.
• Familiarity with multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, continuity testing, or other electrical test equipment.
• Exposure to manufacturing environments, Lean principles, 5S, or root-cause analysis.
• Experience with CAD/electrical-design software, ERP systems, or basic data-analysis tools.
