Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid, with three days per week onsite in the Lisbon office

What you will do

• Provide security expertise and mentorship to engineering teams throughout planning, design, and testing.
• Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native preventative and detective controls operating at scale.
• Build automation to audit infrastructure-as-code and deployed infrastructure.
• Develop security tooling, integrate with third-party security products, and maintain existing tools.
• Co-develop threat models, perform security reviews and testing, and define mitigation strategies.
• Lead complex security capability projects and contribute to security strategy and tooling selection.

Requirements

• Experience building and deploying containerized applications in public cloud using CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of cloud networking architecture, cloud operations, security, automation, and orchestration.
• Experience with threat modeling, engineering design reviews, distributed-systems security, containers, and Kubernetes security practices.
• Experience with Go, Python, or another modern programming language, including creating, automating, and integrating security tools.
• Experience with Git or another version control system.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining security in public cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.
• Ability to lead and encourage creative and critical design thinking, collaboration, evaluation of options, and objective decision-making.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with personnel and teams.

Nice to have

• Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Experience with well-architected cloud security frameworks or CSA-CCM.
• Contributions to the security community through research, blogging, or presentations.
• Experience with penetration testing, security testing, cloud provider APIs, and security tool development.
