Global Supply Manager – PCBA & Electronics

Base pay: $150,000–$200,000 per year

hirify.global designs, builds, and flies long-duration stratospheric balloons that collect atmospheric data. Its flight hardware combines PCBAs, electronic sensors, ballast, and an adjustable balloon, with electronic assemblies integrated and tested in-house.

What you will do

• Own sourcing strategy for PCBAs, bare boards, electronic components, cable assemblies, connectors, and electromechanical parts.
• Run the full RFQ lifecycle, including supplier identification, quote analysis, cost breakdowns, and negotiations covering piece price, tooling, terms, and volume commitments.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers in the U.S. and Asia; build an approved vendor list with two to three qualified sources per commodity.
• Manage contract manufacturers and consigned materials, including BOM revisions, component substitutions, first article reviews, lead times, and supplier performance.
• Identify supply risks and implement dual sourcing, alternates, buffer stock, corrective actions, and shortage or delay escalations.
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing on component selection, DFM feedback, NPI, production ramp, design-change impacts, and BOM cost reduction.

Requirements

• 7+ years of strategic sourcing or global supply management experience in hardware, with hands-on ownership of PCB/PCBA and electronic components.
• Experience managing contract manufacturers and EMS providers, including bare board fabrication, component procurement, assembly, and stacked lead times.
• Proven experience owning RFQs, building should-cost models, and leading complex supplier negotiations.
• Direct experience working with suppliers in Asia and willingness to take calls during Asia business hours when needed.
• Experience supporting products from NPI through production ramp.
• Technical ability to read BOMs, work through component-level details with engineers, and identify specification deviations.
• Ability to build processes from scratch in a lean, fast-moving team; this is the first dedicated person in the role.
• Strong written and verbal communication across engineering, manufacturing, finance, and supplier leadership.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites domestically and internationally as needed.

Nice to have

• Mandarin or another Asian language used with suppliers.
• Experience sourcing injection-molded, machined, or cable assembly components.
• Background in drones, robotics, aerospace, or other electromechanical hardware.
• Degree in engineering, supply chain, or purchasing and materials management.
