What you will do
- Build generic software for long-range EO/IR sensors and future sensors on mobile and airborne platforms.
- Develop harnesses and workflow graphs that move capabilities through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and end-to-end field testing.
- Build autonomous systems that run tests against real hardware at test sites and report results.
- Improve simulation and replay so features can be developed and validated before hardware deployment.
- Integrate radar, cameras, and other sensors through interfaces, timing, and data-flow systems.
- Deploy, monitor, and fix software running on edge hardware at test and customer sites.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of a production system end to end.

- Strong Python skills for building services and tools used by other engineers.
- Comfort with Linux, Docker, networking, and CI, including bringing multi-service systems up on unfamiliar hardware.
- Ability to use AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code thoughtfully while writing, explaining, and debugging independent code.
- Practical grounding in physical systems through engineering education, hardware, sensors, robotics, or field work; ability to read schematics, understand test racks, and collaborate with optics or RF engineers.
- Willingness to work in the field, debug systems on site, and ship fixes before the next flight.
- Evidence-based engineering approach focused on measurement and experimentation rather than guessing.
- U.S. Person status and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience with cameras, EO/IR sensors, gimbals, radar, or video pipelines such as GStreamer or DeepStream.
- Embedded Linux or edge computing, especially NVIDIA Jetson, plus GPU or CUDA experience.

- Hardware-in-the-loop test rigs or test automation against real hardware.
- Simulation or game-engine experience with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Unreal, or similar tools.
- Experience building AI agent harnesses or workflow graphs.
- C++ or TypeScript experience.
- Defense or aerospace experience, or a current U.S. security clearance.
