Anticipated base salary: $217,000–$281,000 USD per year.

Company

hirify.global develops commercially deployed humanoid robots for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end network and controls architecture for humanoid robot platforms, integrating perception, compute, control, actuation, and safety systems.
  • Provide technical direction to architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Lead trade studies and architecture reviews covering performance, functional safety, complexity, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
  • Partner with controls, simulation, software, systems, test, and integration teams to ground decisions in modeling, simulation, performance analysis, and traceable requirements.
  • Translate user needs, field performance, and R&D findings into long-term product and platform architecture.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of robotics platform software development as a senior or lead engineer.
  • 5+ years of controls system development as a senior or lead engineer.
  • 3+ years of network and compute system development as a senior or lead engineer.
  • 3+ years of firmware development from bare-metal through network integration.
  • Deep understanding of robotic system design, including cost, power, heat, sensing, compute, and safety tradeoffs.
  • Experience designing and delivering complex electromechanical robotic systems from ideation through production and field or commercial deployment.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering, robot kinematics, dynamics, controls, and system modeling.
  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts, product FuSa certifications, FMEA/FMECA, and hazard analysis in robotic systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including influencing decisions across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience architecting full-stack robotics systems for humanoid, legged mobility, mobile manipulation, or high-DOF automation platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with perception pipelines, real-time control systems, and safety-rated architectures.
  • Experience with GitHub and similar collaborative development tools.
  • Experience with MuJoCo, Gazebo, or equivalent simulation tools and integrating simulation into system design and validation.
  • Familiarity with AI and reinforcement learning applied to robotics learning and control.
  • Master’s or PhD degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience mentoring and growing engineers and fostering healthy team culture.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hybrid work with flexible work arrangements and occasional travel to Salem and Pittsburgh offices.
  • Full-time employees receive a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match, equity, and company-paid medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability insurance.
  • Benefits begin on the first day; eligible roles may include relocation assistance and an annual discretionary bonus.
  • Paid parental leave, professional development, tuition reimbursement, and employee assistance support.
  • Exempt employees receive flexible unlimited PTO and 12 company holidays including a winter shutdown; non-exempt employees receive 10 vacation days, paid sick leave, and 12 company holidays.
