Senior Manager, Food Regulatory - Hydration, Desserts & Meals

Location: Hybrid, requiring three days onsite weekly at an office in Pittsburgh, PA, Chicago, IL, or Glenview, IL, United States

New hire base salary: $120,800–$151,000 annually, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop the food regulatory team supporting Hydration, Desserts, and Meals.
• Provide strategic regulatory advice and technical guidance consistent with FDA, USDA, and hirify.global requirements.
• Lead regulatory support for commercialization, including specifications, nutritionals, formulations, ingredient safety, labeling, claims, substantiation, advertising, promotions, and technical documentation.
• Direct responses to urgent regulatory matters, including factory and label emergencies, label exceptions, and temporary approvals.
• Coordinate workflows and resources while translating complex or ambiguous regulatory issues into practical business recommendations.
• Build cross-functional partnerships and help shape strategy and scalable ways of working across the Food Regulation & Strategy organization.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field, with exposure to food science or engineering, nutrition or labeling, or product development.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in U.S. food, beverage, and/or dietary supplement labeling regulatory compliance.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and processes, including mandatory labeling elements, ingredient safety, and product claims.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. food regulatory compliance and commercialization requirements, including FDA and USDA regulations, specifications, claims, and labeling databases.
• Experience providing strategic, solution-oriented regulatory advice and technical guidance in complex, fast-paced business environments.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams, including hybrid teams across multiple locations.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, presentation, influencing, negotiation, and cross-functional partnership skills.
• Ability to develop others, raise team capability, apply sound judgment in gray areas, and translate regulatory complexity into practical business guidance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver high-quality work with urgency and follow-through, and proactively address issues through strategic problem solving.
