Senior Manager, Global Trade Compliance (Cell Therapy)

Location: United States - California - Santa Monica; other locations include Thousand Oaks and El Segundo, California. Workplace type: Onsite - Hybrid Eligible.

Salary: $143,225–$185,350 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead daily import and export compliance operations and projects supporting cell therapy activities across domestic and international markets.
• Manage customs brokers and support efficient customs clearance for critical cell therapy products.
• Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies, procedures, controls, training, recordkeeping, and audit processes aligned with CBP, CBSA, FDA, USDA, CDC, and other agency requirements.
• Oversee product classifications, export controls, import product codes, country-of-origin data, denied-party screening, EEI filings, and valuation methodology.
• Monitor KPIs, identify compliance gaps, implement trade compliance systems with IT, and recommend process improvements and cost reductions.
• Partner with R&D, Logistics, Supply Chain, Commercial, Tax, Legal, plant, warehouse, internal teams, and external providers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or bachelor’s degree in one of these fields with 8+ years; or high school diploma with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of global trade compliance, including US and Canadian customs laws and regulations.
• Experience with FDA, USDA, and CDC import requirements and with import/export compliance programs.
• Effective written and oral communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, including the ability to work with internal and external partners without direct authority.
• Ability to identify compliance gaps, recommend process improvements, provide oversight and counsel, and work with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with cell therapy import, export, and regulatory requirements in US and international markets.
• US Customs Broker License.
• Project management experience.
• Working knowledge of SAP GTS.
