Safety Manager (EPC / T&D; Electrical Projects)

Location: Alvarado, Texas, United States; supports projects across a 3- to 5-state territory, requires weekly travel to project locations, and may be performed in a company-designated office or field location. Home location may be anywhere near a major airport.

What you will do

• Manage ongoing safety programs and coordinate safety staffing with Operations.
• Verify fieldwork compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Audit and guide safety engineers, provide feedback, and coordinate cross-training and safety training.
• Conduct announced and unannounced inspections, surveys, and evaluations, including reporting findings.
• Support accident briefs, safety publications, bulletins, reports, safety studies, and progress reporting.
• Provide technical assistance to eliminate or control unsafe behavior and environmental factors.

Requirements

• Experience with OSHA record keeping, reporting, and Method of Procedure writing.
• Experience conducting job hazard and safety analyses in the transmission and distribution industry.
• Experience in transmission and distribution line construction and management experience in a safety role.
• Safety or related technical undergraduate degree, such as CSP.
• Experience with risk management and utility and construction safety programs.
• OSHA/DOT-related experience and knowledge of OSHA Strategic Partnership.
• OSHA 10, 30, and 500 Train the Trainer certification.
• Effective written and oral communication, reliability, punctuality, self-direction, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer and typing skills.

Nice to have

• Safety credentials such as CHST, CUSP, OSHA 501, or OTI certifications; any combination is highly preferred.
