Bridgwater HSE Manager

Location: Bridgewater, NJ; site-level role, not remote. Periodic travel is required for meetings and participation in other site audits.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, train, and maintain site HSE policies, programs, procedures, and corporate safety mandates.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, environmental permits, reporting requirements, and hazardous waste regulations.
• Drive team-member engagement, behavior-based safety, incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and best-practice sharing.
• Maintain certification to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards and support internal and external HSE audits.
• Partner with facility leadership, HR, sites, and regulatory agencies on HSE meetings, inspections, Kaizen/Gemba events, and compliance initiatives.
• Develop standardized regional HSE training materials, procedures, training-needs analyses, and online learning processes using systems such as Dozuki and Workday.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field; direct HSE experience may substitute for the degree.
• 3–5+ years of direct experience with OSHA compliance, behavior-based safety, root-cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedure development, auditing, and training.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation regulations and experience with environmental permit compliance and hazardous waste management.
• Experience developing and implementing training materials and processes.
• Strong organizational, planning, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other standard computer applications.
• Ability to interact with all organizational levels and travel periodically for meetings and site audits.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ISO management systems, including ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
• Experience at a manufacturing site.
