Continuous Improvement Supervisor (Biotech)

Location: On-site in Piscataway, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Direct, mentor, and manage 10–12 technicians and floor specialists on the manufacturing floor.
• Run daily molecular biology production operations while maintaining output targets, safety guidelines, and ISO/GMP quality compliance.
• Conduct performance reviews, feedback sessions, skill-matrix development, workload distribution, shift handovers, and resource management.
• Coordinate between floor technicians, cross-functional teams, and factory leadership.
• Troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, equipment availability, and material supply to prevent downtime.
• Apply Lean methods including 5S, Gemba walks, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis to improve workflow and reduce waste.

Requirements

• 3+ years of direct, on-site floor team management experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Demonstrated success managing teams of 10 or more associates, including staff retention, conflict resolution, and positive team-culture development.
• Practical experience applying continuous-improvement manufacturing principles to daily shop-floor operations.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Lean production or Six Sigma certification; Green Belt or above is preferred.
• Experience leading or assisting cross-departmental Lean improvement projects such as 5S, TPM, VSM, SMED, or standardized work.
• Proficiency with Excel and other data-analysis tools, plus experience with cross-departmental project implementation.
• Strong communication, structured expression, training, factory-leadership communication, and hands-on floor-support skills.
• Proficiency with Lean tools including A3 reports, standardized work, and ECRS.
