Systems Engineer III (Active Directory/Entra ID)

Location: Bethesda, Maryland, United States; work is primarily performed in an office environment.

Salary: $94,200–$120,000 per year; final offer depends on location, skillset, and experience.

What you will do

• Integrate Intune, MECM, Jamf, Entra ID, endpoint, identity, security, and reporting platforms.
• Develop PowerShell and REST API automations, including Graph API and service principal integrations.
• Investigate authentication, permissions, synchronization, and access failures.
• Support migrations, platform transitions, system administration, upgrades, patches, backups, firewalls, and operational availability.
• Build integration interfaces with logging, retry handling, error reporting, documented data flows, tests, and procedures.
• Reconcile IT asset inventory in ServiceNow and create reports, dashboards, metrics, standard operating procedures, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 6+ years of systems integration experience.
• Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Public Trust level.
• Expertise with Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Experience with PowerShell, REST APIs, and Graph.
• Ability to document technical work, communicate with federal stakeholders, and work within formal change, security, and operational governance processes.
• Ability to work across distributed technical teams and manage competing operational priorities.
• Ability to support infrastructure designs, system integration, automation, reporting, implementation, and system administration tasks.

Nice to have

• Prior support of NIH, HHS, or comparable large federal civilian agency environments.
• Experience with enterprise-scale endpoint management, cybersecurity operations, and service transition practices.
• Experience using automation, metrics, and documented quality controls to improve repeatability and service outcomes.
