CGMBS Training Program 2027 (Internal Applicants Only) (Clinical Molecular Genetics)

hirify.global provides a CLIA-licensed laboratory environment for clinical molecular genetics training.

What you will do

• Complete a 52-week program of documented didactic and practical laboratory training.
• Develop competency in laboratory recordkeeping, quality control, reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, and safety.
• Perform nucleic acid extraction, detection, hybridization, amplification, DNA/RNA library preparation, sequencing, and microarray techniques.
• Perform clinical testing techniques including Sanger sequencing, next-generation sequencing, and PCR.
• Apply genetic nomenclature and understand applicable molecular biology concepts.
• Develop the ability to independently interpret, implement, and troubleshoot established procedures while following legal, ethical, professional, and communication standards.

Requirements

• Internal employees only: at least one year of continuous full-time employment with hirify.global, working 40 hours per week, completed by October 2026, with a start date on or before October 2025.
• Must not have received an overall rating below “Meets Expectations” on the last annual Performance Review, a written warning, or placement on a performance plan within the last 12 months.
• Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in biological science or chemistry, or a bachelor’s degree with 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in biology and chemistry.
• Submit college transcript documentation confirming the degree was conferred.
• Pending application to Laboratory Field Services for a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist Trainee License is required; final admission depends on receiving the trainee license.
• Must qualify to sit for the ASCP MB certifying examination.
• Must have U.S. citizenship or permanent residency in the U.S.
