Senior Data Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; hybrid work with 4 days per week in the Copenhagen HQ.

What you will do

• Design, architect, and maintain scalable data processing solutions and reusable infrastructure for personalization, product discovery, lead generation, dynamic pricing, and BI dashboards.
• Own shared infrastructure for ML workflows, data processing, and storage across Glue, AppFlow, Airflow, Lambda, Redshift, OpenSearch, RDS, and S3.
• Build self-service tooling and infrastructure standards so teams can deploy and operate pipelines independently.
• Optimize performance, efficiency, and infrastructure cost governance across the AWS data ecosystem.
• Partner with Product Managers and Tech Leads across ML, Finance, Marketing, and Analytics to translate operational use cases into technical requirements.
• Automate observability, monitoring, data integrity testing, and governance; drive design reviews, best practices, and mentoring across the data team.

Requirements

• Deep proficiency in Python and SQL, with advanced understanding of AWS Redshift internals, efficient S3 usage, and data engineering fundamentals including scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and trade-off analysis.
• Extensive experience designing, building, and operating production data processing solutions using Airflow, AppFlow, Metaflow, dbt, and dlt.
• Experience with distributed systems in production, including Spark on EMR and Glue.
• Strong software and systems engineering skills with a proven record of managing platform-level systems end to end.
• Experience with DataOps, GitOps, Terraform, CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions and Docker, and observability tools.
• Familiarity with MLOps principles, cloud-native infrastructure, and container orchestration.
• Proven ability to take technical ownership of complex projects autonomously, drive architectural decisions, and mentor engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with streaming technologies including Kinesis, Firehose, and Flink.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
