Electrical Engineering Intern (Power Systems)

Pay range: $24.25–$33.00 per hour

What you will do

• Provide technical support to SEL staff and customers.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of SEL processes and technologies.
• Test new and existing technology.
• Document and communicate test results.
• Support protection, automation, and control projects from studies through design, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
• Apply SEL values, operating principles, and manufacturing principles while collaborating with engineering teams.

Requirements

• Current student eligible for an engineering internship.
• Experience with programming and script files.
• Practical knowledge of three-phase power systems and SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
• Working knowledge of emulators and logic analyzers.
• Ability to use Microsoft Windows, serial-port terminal emulation software, and Microsoft Visio.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check results and negative drug test results.
