Director of Fund Services (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid work with office attendance at least two days per week, on Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday.

Base salary: $250,000+ annually, plus benefits and equity; actual compensation varies by professional background, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Lead Belltower’s Fund Services organization as it expands its institutional offering.
• Implement operational changes that make AI tooling effective, including team responsibilities, controls, training, and success measures.
• Develop managers, establish accountability, and build service capabilities for larger clients.
• Improve delivery times and productivity while maintaining client service quality.
• Identify root causes of errors, prevent repeat incidents, and strengthen operational controls.
• Use operational evidence to prioritize workflow changes and safe automation with Product and Engineering.

Requirements

• Experience building and scaling complex operations with financial, legal, tax, or compliance consequences.
• Experience leading managers through meaningful change and explaining the scale managed and results delivered.
• Strong risk judgment, client instincts, and practical technology experience.
• Experience building or operating control environments with preventive and detective controls, clear ownership, and audit-ready evidence.
• Ability to learn a complex domain quickly while working through experienced managers.
• Fund administration experience is valuable, but adjacent backgrounds with a clear record of learning quickly are also considered.
• CPA certification is not required.
